Websites

This page is about websites I’ve build in a non-work related context.

Online

For the websites that I currently maintain I’m using Kamal (v1) to bring them to production. They’re all hosted together on a single VPS from Hetzner. For some basic stats I’m using goatcounter which gives me all I need to know.

michelfiege.nl

It’s just a single html page with my name on it. The Dockerfile in the project seems overkill, but being able to just run kamal deploy is worth it.

gamemaker.michelfiege.nl

I created this website around 2011 as part of my graduation project at the TU Delft. I used the learning materials to research the effects of building games on understanding programming concepts. Although Game Maker itself has evolved into a whole different application, I keep this website online for those teachers and students still using the legacy version.

robomind.michelfiege.nl

I was a computer science teacher for 5 years and used Robomind to introduce students to algorithmic thinking. It visualizes concepts like conditionals and loops in a fun way with a very short feedback loop. I don’t think it’s really maintained anymore, but based on the few stats I have some people probably still use it.

mise.nl

I’m listing mise.nl here but 99.9% of the work is currently done by Sem. I occasionally help out with a Pull Request or we pair up on a Friday evening.

I plan to write a story of the history of mise.nl which used to be our self build social network at the time we went to high school.

Offline

The following websites are no longer online.

rohadining.nl

This was a restaurant website that I created using Ruby on Rails and Tailwind. The design came from Sem. It was online from 2023 until the the restaurant closed down in 2025. The site had a simple administrative section to manage the content, pictures and the menu card.

restaurant-leff.nl

The first website of this restaurant ran from 2014-2018.

In 2018 I rebuild the website with NextJS, using React and Styled Components.

More to follow soon

I’m trying to rediscover the sites I worked on in the early days...
